enlightenment is not associated with religion
Why is it we live in a world where it is considered a positive thing to believe in something unnatural, impossible and unproven. Also why should people who's only reference materials are 100 of yrs old have a moral monopoly and make important social decisions based upon these deluded ideals. Abortion, contraception, stem cell research etc.
This IS an attack at religion, not necessarily the people who believe. I find it hard to believe that as parents, religious people are teaching their children the values of blind faith against scientific discourse and sceptical questioning. So many times the trust bestowed upon religious figures is betrayed and the young and vunerable become victims.
Lets start a new enlightenment and campaign for the end of public indoctrination of children. Let's campaign for the sessation of religious labelling of children, you wouldn't label a child a Marxist or Socialist child because of it's parent's political views. Religion does nothing but impede our progression as a race and should be dropped quickly.
To all the faithful out there who have read this and I've angered, forgive me.
I don't respect your faith in something so obviously a fabrication and I don't appreciate the respect (and monetary gains) society gives to organised religion.
A man who hears voices in his head is deemed mad until enough people believe in his rantings then he becomes a prophet.
- Finally, someone speaks the same way I think!!! I want to give you the most thanks for this blog...
- It is very sad that people who are blind to the true values of their teachings, pass that blindness along. It spreads hate and violence and children should not have to suffer for their parents ignorance. Right on my friend. Well stated!
